Predoctoral trainee nominations for 2025-2026 will open spring of 2025
Predoctoral trainee positions will be available starting Sept. 1, 2025. The support will include stipend, a small allowance for trainee-related travel expenses, and tuition and fees.
Trainees must be nominated by a Faculty Mentor who meets the program requirements. Any graduate student who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident pursuing full-time research with a Faculty Mentor may be nominated.
Faculty are particularly urged to seek out and nominate individuals from under-represented groups.
Submission of nominations
Predoctoral nominations must include:
- Faculty trainer letter describing
a. Student’s qualifications
b. Current funding and research environment: how will you support the student’s work?
Please include a paragraph addressing how the training environment will be adapted,
if necessary, for continued COVID-19 precautions.
c. Training record, noting former trainees supported by this T32 and their current positions
- One page description of the research project, written by the student with input from trainer
- Half-page description of the student’s long-term plans/goals and how the program will benefit, written by the student
- Student’s CV
- Academic transcript, qualifying exam outcomes, graduate group affiliation and expected PhD completion date
